The Australian Defence Force (ADF) Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (ASEME) signed a five-year training contract with Wodonga Institute of TAFE that will see the TAFE, and its partners, deliver key technical trade training requirements for Defence personnel.

Under a partnership initiative with Transport Women Australia Limited (TWAL) and Volvo Group Australia, Wodonga TAFE’s Transport Division DECA will deliver the first SHVL program for women. Bedding plants can be a wide range of different species, from annual plants, biennials and even short-lived perennials. ‘Bedding plant’ is the name we give to any plants that are used for a short-term display. Usually, we grow them for their colour and then, as soon as the flowers finish, we remove and discard them – even our bedding plants have become a victim in this throw-away society. The most well-known bedding plant display is the floral clock in St Kilda Road, Melbourne.

It’s that time of year when the colour of autumn leaves are but a memory and the colour of spring blossom is yet to appear. Even our blue sky is cloaked in a cover of grey clouds. In our climate zone of four distinct seasons, winter can be rather dull and drab - but help is at hand. Wodonga TAFE have secured Government Funding to assist long-term job seekers on their often difficult quest for employment. The Reconnect Program is aimed at those who meet a specific set of criteria and are often more disadvantaged when it comes to being selected for work opportunities. The program’s main aim is to assist these people to gain a useful set of skills or even qualifications that in turn will help them become more employable.

The Japanese Flowering Quince (Chaenomeles) is a deciduous or a semi-deciduous shrub. The height varies depending upon the species and can range from about one metre to three metres.
