Full qualification as a tradesperson is only possible if undertaking this course as an apprentice. Students can gain employment with furniture makers, kitchen manufacturers, shop fitters, joiners, reproduction furniture makers, furniture restorers and boat interior fitters.

The course focuses upon the use of hand tools to produce set projects designed to incorporate different learning processes. Topics include: using and maintaining hand tools, safe use of portable power tools, basic woodworking skills, basic timber joints and more. Each student will build a set project(s).
