Course Overview
Overview
The course focuses upon the use of hand tools to produce set projects designed to incorporate different learning processes. Topics include: using and maintaining hand tools, safe use of portable power tools, basic woodworking skills, basic timber joints and more. Each student will build a set project outlined at the beginning of the course.
This course is a pre-requisite to apply for the Intermediate Woodworking (NA26WDINTER).

Requirements
You must be 16 or older to complete this course (exemptions for 15-year-olds may be considered where exceptional circumstances apply, please contact Wodonga TAFE to discuss prior to making an application). All students under the age of 18 are required to have a parental/guardian consent form completed.

Pathways
Applicants must have either complete either the Woodworking 101 (NA18WOOD) OR, this Introduction to Woodworking (NA26WDINTRO) to be accepted into the Intermediate Woodworking (NA26WDINTER).
After completion of these courses, students may like to undertake further study in:
- Certificate II In Cabinet Making & Timber Technology, or
- Certificate II in Constrcution Pathways
