Most racing teams see this qualification - and studying with Motorsports Training Australia - as the minimum point of entry into the industry. Many of our graduates have achieved excellent employment outcomes in the motorsports industry after they have completed this certificate. Further study is available in a Certificate IV or enter an apprenticeship in the motorsports\auto performance industry or allied trades. You learn all facets of a motor vehicle, with an inclination towards performance and sports vehicles. You also learn about the industry of motorsports.

This course is available only to those undertaking Motorsports Training Australia's Certificate IV in Motorsport Technology AUR40320 and is run alongside it and aimed at automotive technicians who want to specialise in the retail aftermarket, or high-performance road car industry. This course is a perfect companion to the Certificate IV in Motorsport with which it is co-delivered, and you'll learn the further technical ins and outs of getting the most out of your equipment and therefore, the cars.

In this second year of study (following the Certificate III in Motor Sport Technology AUR30920) you will achieve the Certificate IV in Motor Sport Technology AUR40320, which is supported by additional units of competency identified as valuable to the motorsports industry. This program develops more advanced technical skills in preparation for a successful career in the industry. Theory (classroom activity) is consolidated with 'hands-on' workshops and trackside experience with a range of MTA equipment including a V8 Supercar, Formula Ford, karts, a speedway car and other vehicles from our partner organisations.

This course must be completed in conjunction with the Certificate III in Motor Sports Technology (AUR30920). Enrolment in the Certificate III is a prerequisite to entry, as both courses are designed to be taken together to provide a comprehensive education in motorsport industry. The course includes training in essential skills such as computer-aided drawing (CAD), CNC machining, welding, and the use of hand and power tools. These skills provide a broad grounding in the technical and practical knowledge needed to enter the motorsport workplace.
