Wodonga TAFE has completed the installation of 600 kilowatts of rooftop solar panels (1584 total) across its McKoy Street campus, TAFESpace and Logic Centre facilities  to reduce environment impact. The solar panels have officially been turned on and are already significantly reducing Wodonga TAFE’s carbon footprint.

The Wodonga TAFE Heavy Vehicle Technology Program plans a state-of-the-art innovative heavy vehicle training and experimentation facility, the technical training courses of the future, and a high school to industry pathway scheme. It will be a game changer for the nation. 

Wodonga TAFE will be home to a multi-million-dollar centre providing secure supported housing, access to education, training and job-skilling for young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The Wodonga Education First Youth Foyer will be developed in partnership between the Victorian Government, BeyondHousing, Wodonga TAFE and Junction Support Services. Wodonga TAFE welcomed guests to the official opening of the Trades Training Centre on Tuesday 6 June,2023.

The state-of-the-art facility incorporates modern classrooms and hands-on practical workspaces to cater for multiple trades (electrotechnology, plumbing, carpentry, cabinetmaking, WHS and building and construction) with mobile equipment available for quality learning practices.

There is already activity happening in building A as we take the first strides toward the refurbishments of the entire building. There are exciting changes that await us, promising to elevate our learning spaces and overall campus experience. As we gear up for these exciting changes, it's important to note that some services will be relocated temporarily due to construction activities in 2024. While this may bring a bit of shuffling around, the result will be well worth the wait—a more dynamic, modern student hub Precinct.

Wodonga’s Education First Youth Foyer is on track to open in just over a year.
Construction of the $15.75 million facility began in October last year at Wodonga TAFE's McKoy Street campus and, when completed in mid-2025, will be home to 40 at-risk or disadvantaged young people.
