When industry and Wodonga TAFE come together, great things happen.  Last month following the successful completion of the first phase of a women only Wodonga TAFE DECA Superior Heavy Vehicle Licensing program. Eight newly-licenced women truck drivers will be working to shift freight and the gender balance in the logistics industry following their graduation from the inaugural women-only driver training program.

On Thursday November 15, Wodonga TAFE was named 2018 Australian Large Training Provider of the Year at the Australian Training Awards in Sydney.

Having already taken out the equivalent Victorian state award in September, Wodonga TAFE progressed to being named a finalist in the national awards, going up against North Metropolitan TAFE - Western Australia & TAFE NSW - Design Centre Enmore - New South Wales.

Wodonga TAFE joins forces with heavy transport companies to offer training opportunities for women embarking on truck driving careers.

On Wednesday 8 May, Wodonga TAFE will be hosting the Disability Jobs Fair for National Disability Services (NDS). This event is part of a project funded by the Department of Education and Training and aims to promote regional employment in the disability sector.

After two years in planning, next month Wodonga TAFE will begin the process of installing 600 kilowatts of rooftop solar photovoltaic panels across its McKoy Street, TAFESpace and Logic Centre campuses.

Wodonga TAFE is celebrating student success for graduates of a new pilot program aimed to meet the employment demand in the Hospitality industry.

Students and staff celebrated a graduation ceremony on campus last Thursday evening, with 13 participants completing the inaugural ‘Teach Your Profession’ Program.

The recently completed E vehicle research project, Driving Smart Specialisation for the Ovens-Murray, provides further insight into the growth within the electric vehicle sector, specifically within the Ovens Murray road corridor, and the upskilling and infrastructure investment required to support this growth.  

Two First-Year Commercial Cookery apprentices won medals at the state finals of the AUS-TAFE Culinary Trophy held at Bendigo TAFE last Tuesday, 28 June 2022. Maddison Schloss (employed by Brown Brothers Winery) won a Bronze medal, and Tayah Jack (employed by Bright Brewery) won a Silver medal.
