Wodonga TAFE works with industry clients to provide training programs customised to meet the needs of the individual business.

Induction and pre-employment training

Induction training and pre-employment training is vital for new employees to help them settle in to the workplace, be more productive earlier, as well as assisting with their retention. Induction training is more than skills training. It covers a range of topics including: the basic employment conditions, the need to understand the organisation's mission, goals, values and philosophy; personnel practices, health and safety rules, and of course the position requirements and expectations.

Customised programs may include general organisational awareness training, health and safety training, on-the-job training, as well as evaluation of the effectiveness of the training program.

Leadership and executive training

Leading others requires enhanced self-awareness, core skills such as managing conflict and increasing team performance, and the ability to maintain a goal-oriented vision.

Through attendance at Wodonga TAFE’s leadership programs, our clients gain insights and tools to build personal, team and organisational effectiveness; and knowledge to delegate effectively, set realistic goals, and coach others in order to achieve. Our programs have a strong personal development focus to build participants’ confidence in their journey to become transformational leaders that reinvigorate and inspire teams.

Compliance training

Our comprehensive compliance training courses are recognised by clients as the benchmark in compliance training. Content is developed in collaboration with subject matter experts to facilitate employees’ understanding and compliance with the laws and regulations pertaining to their roles and the business environment in which they operate. 

In addition to training,  Wodonga TAFE compliance training platform provides clients with the ability to meet their legal responsibility through the training of their staff. A record of attendance and academic achievement is maintained for all students and may be made available by arrangement for secure download by the employer. 

The following topics may be covered during the compliance programs on offer through Wodonga TAFE. 

  • Ethical and professional conduct introduces participant to the ethics framework and guides individuals in dealing with everyday ethical issues. 
  • Privacy and the importance of individual’s personal information, protection of information and to assist with the various privacy concerns that may be encountered. 
  • Occupational Health and Safety covers a broad overview of occupational health and safety policy, procedures and practices and provides an understanding of companies’ safety responsibilities. 
  • Equal opportunity looks at ways to providing an environment that is free from all forms of unlawful discrimination and sexual harassment. Training also provides a clear understanding of the legal obligations and responsibilities in relation to equal opportunity.
