Julie K. | Team Leader & Careers Practitioner

Julie is a highly experienced Careers Practitioner and Team Leader with the Skills and Jobs Centre, and has a long-standing commitment to supporting individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and life circumstances. Throughout her career, she has led and mentored teams of dedicated professionals.

She is a professional member of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA) and the Centre for Education Association Victoria (CEAV) and is registered with the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA).

Julie is accredited in the use of several leading career assessment tools, including Morrisby, the Strong Interest Inventory, and My Career Match. She maintains a strong commitment to continuous professional learning, completing a minimum of 30 hours of professional development annually.

Her qualifications include a Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate in Career Development, a Diploma in Career Counselling, and a Diploma of Leadership and Management. Julie's diverse career spans the employment, education, and government sectors, with significant experience at Centrelink (now Services Australia).

Nyssa W. | Careers Advisor

Nyssa is a Careers Advisor and developing Career Development Practitioner at the Skills and Jobs Centre, supporting people to explore their career direction, work through career decisions and gain greater clarity about what comes next.

Taking a person-centred approach, she works one-on-one with individuals to unpack where they are now, what is important to them and where they would like to go. She also recognises that career decisions don't happen in isolation and works with each person to explore their strengths, circumstances, priorities and possibilities.

She supports clients with career exploration and decision-making, career change and transition, career assessments, education and training pathways, job search strategies, resumes and applications, and interview preparation. She also facilitates directed career education Virtual Reality (VR) sessions, providing an interactive way for clients to explore different industries, occupations and work environments.

Nyssa holds a Certificate IV in Career Development and is currently undertaking postgraduate study in Career Development and Career Counselling, further developing her career counselling practice and knowledge.

Kimberley L. | Careers Advisor

Kimberley brings a diverse background in community services and over 10 years of experience in the hair and beauty industry, ensuring a genuine people-centred approach to career guidance. In her role as a Career Advisor, Kimberley supports individuals to recognise their strengths, build confidence and explore meaningful pathways into education, training and employment.

Kimberley believes career development is about more than finding a job. It’s about helping people discover their potential and create a future that feels purposeful and achievable. With a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, this has strengthened her understanding of the personal and practical barriers that can impact a person’s journey.

Combined with her experience working closely with people in the hair industry, Kimberley brings strong communication, relationship-building and active listening skills to every interaction by applying a strengths-based and individualised approach, creating a supportive environment where people feel heard, valued and empowered to take their next step.

Anita V. | Victorian Early School Leaver Connection Initiative Career Advice Service Practitioner

Anita is a Career Practitioner with the Victorian Early Leaver Connection Initiative (VELCI) at the Wodonga Skills and Jobs Centre. She works with young people aged 16–20 who have either left school with an approved exemption of exited before completing Year 12, left helping them reconnect with education, training, or employment pathways. Drawing on her background in employment services and the hospitality industry, Anita brings both practical insight and a strengths-based, supportive approach to her work. She is passionate about empowering young people, building their confidence and motivation, and helping them take meaningful steps toward a positive and purposeful future.  Anita is currently studying the Graduate Certificate in Career Development due for completion in October 2025.
