Julie K. | Team Leader & Careers Practitioner

Julie is a highly experienced Careers Practitioner and Team Leader with the Skills and Jobs Centre, and has a long-standing commitment to supporting individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and life circumstances. Throughout her career, she has led and mentored teams of dedicated professionals.

She is a professional member of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA) and the Centre for Education Association Victoria (CEAV) and is registered with the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA).

Julie is accredited in the use of several leading career assessment tools, including Morrisby, the Strong Interest Inventory, and My Career Match. She maintains a strong commitment to continuous professional learning, completing a minimum of 30 hours of professional development annually.

Her qualifications include a Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate in Career Development, a Diploma in Career Counselling, and a Diploma of Leadership and Management. Julie's diverse career spans the employment, education, and government sectors, with significant experience at Centrelink (now Services Australia).

Nyssa W. | Careers Advisor

Nyssa is a friendly and approachable Careers Advisor at the Skills and Jobs Centre, with a diverse background across multiple industries — Nyssa has explored a bit of everything! Nyssa understands that career journeys aren’t always straightforward, which is why she is passionate about helping people discover their direction, clarify their goals, and take meaningful steps forward.  Nyssa specialise in resume support, job searching and applications, interview preparation, career pathway planning, and exploring education and training options. Whether through one-on-one sessions or group workshops, Nyssa’s focus is on equipping individuals with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to move ahead with purpose.  With a solid understanding of course entry requirements and a natural ability to connect with people, Nyssa offers practical, person-centred support that helps turn career aspirations into achievable outcomes and has completed a Certificate IV Career Development.

David H. | Careers Advisor

David has been working as a Careers Advisor at the Skills and Jobs Centre for over two years, bringing more than 20 years of experience in employment and recruitment, along with over 15 years in risk management, workers’ compensation, and return-to-work support. David strongly believes that individuals are their own best advocates when approaching employers, and empowering people to recognise their value and potential is incredibly rewarding.  David is passionate about celebrating the unique skills and diversity each person brings to the workplace. Knowing that David has been a part in guiding and supporting someone toward a positive future is truly fulfilling. David states he is fortunate to be part of a team that shares these values and is committed to making a meaningful difference. David has a Certificate IV Career Development and Certificate IV Employment Services

Anita V. | Victorian Early School Leaver Connection Initiative Career Advice Service Practitioner

Anita is a Career Practitioner with the Victorian Early Leaver Connection Initiative (VELCI) at the Wodonga Skills and Jobs Centre. She works with young people aged 16–20 who have either left school with an approved exemption of exited before completing Year 12, left helping them reconnect with education, training, or employment pathways. Drawing on her background in employment services and the hospitality industry, Anita brings both practical insight and a strengths-based, supportive approach to her work. She is passionate about empowering young people, building their confidence and motivation, and helping them take meaningful steps toward a positive and purposeful future.  Anita is currently studying the Graduate Certificate in Career Development due for completion in October 2025.

Narelle J. | Engagement Officer

Narelle works as an Engagement Officer at the Skills and Jobs Centre in Wodonga, where she specialise in recruitment support and connecting businesses with the right talent. With a professional background as Human Resources Manager, and experience across economic development, tourism, and agriculture, Narelle is passionate about helping individuals achieve their career goals while supporting businesses to build skilled, sustainable workforces. Narelle’s focus is on fostering thriving, resilient businesses through strategic recruitment and tailored training solutions.  Narelle has an Advanced Diploma Tourism and Certificate IV Human Resources.
