- Basic life support techniques
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Automated external defibrillation (AED)
- Post-incident debriefing, counselling and assessment
- Childhood medical, trauma and environmental emergencies
- Management of childhood asthma and anaphylaxis emergencies
- Special requirements for providing first aid to infants and children in care
Compulsory Units
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
Licences/Tickets
Provide First Aid and CPR in an Education and Care Setting Competency Card.
Certification
In successfully completing this course you will receive a nationally recognised AQF Statement of Attainment and Competency Card, valid for a period of three (3) years from the date of issue. It is recommended by the ARC that first aid skills be renewed every 3 years and CPR be undertaken every 12 months.
