Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping

Overview

Units included in this course meet the BAS Agent Board registration requirements. This course incorporates the foundations of accounting, including setting up and managing accounting systems using cloud computing applications, preparing financial reports, budgeting, payroll, preparing and lodging business and instalment activity statements as well as preparing you to work as bookkeeper or within an accounts role. This course is suitable for anyone looking to get into the financial services field, or who wants to complement their current role with further understanding and learning.

• Traineeship – Teaching and assessment will be required to be conducted as part of a traineeship

Duration

Full-time: 10 months

Schedule

• On-campus/blended - 2024 Midyear intake commences Friday 19 July; one day per week on campus (Fridays) 9am-4pm delivery plus one evening per week optional tutorial (Tuesdays) 5.30pm-8.30pm, plus further online learning and assessments (approximately 8 hours per week in addition to face-to-face requirements).

• Traineeship - Individual training plans will be developed in consultation with your employer, as part of your traineeship.

Requirements

Students will need to have access to a computer and internet to complete coursework and assessments outside of scheduled classes. Computers will be available within scheduled classes.

Certification

- By successfully completing this course you will receive a nationally recognised AQF Qualification.
- Once you complete this course you will also meet the education requirements for BAS agent registration (note: additional conditions apply, refer to www.tpb.gov.au for current requirements.)

Fees

From 1 January 2019, Free TAFE for Priority Courses is a Victorian Government program that will pay your tuition fees to study in this selected course at Wodonga TAFE, if you’re eligible, subject to minimum numbers.

Once you submit an application for this course you will receive a separate email from LLN Robot to complete both a Digital Assessment and a Learning, Reading, Writing, Oral and Numeracy Assessment (LLN Assessment) online.

Please check your junk mail if this does not come to your inbox. All students are asked to complete the Digital and LLN assessments to determine any support requirements and to ensure the course and mode of delivery is suitable for the student.

Please allow one hour to complete the Digital and LLN assessments. You will need a computer with speakers or headphones as there is an audio section in the LLN assessment.

Your LLN and Digital assessments will need to be completed one week after receiving it to progress your application to the next stage, or your application may be withdrawn due to inactivity.

Note: Completion of the LLN and Digital assessments does not guarantee a place in the course at Wodonga TAFE. Numbers are limited and selected applicants will be contacted to attend an interview.
