Horses for courses - Work Education students team up to support local business

As part of their vocational studies, students completing their Work Education qualifications have worked together in creating an outdoor waiting room for 'Lazy Acre Pony Rides' at Stanley.

Students repurposed an old bench from Wodonga TAFE and replaced the wood, painted it in rainbow colours, and bolted the bench back together. They then took the bench to the farm and installed it in place with heavy-duty tent pegs.

The students also created a unique fairy garden using a birdbath decorated with tiny mushrooms, fairies, and little birds. They planted succulents and created a rock garden around the birdbath, making the most of the gorgeous natural features of the farm.

Owner of the business, Emilia Gladstone, is thrilled with the outcome and can’t wait to see how visiting children respond when they next arrive for a pony ride. Situated in Rosengren Lane in Stanley, Lazy Acres farm offers pony riding $10 for 15 minutes, and aims to educate children to respect and care for horses gently. They also offer special needs horse therapy for children and adults. Find out a bit more here, www.facebook.com/Lazy-Acres-Farm
