QUALIFICATIONS

Certificate IV in Fitness

Take your fitness career to the next level! This qualification is the industry standard you need to work as a personal trainer in the fitness sector. Extend your knowledge and gain the specialist skills you need to train individuals or groups of clients, to help them improve their fitness. Learn how to plan, conduct, and evaluate exercise training, and to provide leadership and guidance to clients and staff in a diverse range of fitness business settings.

On-campus/blended: Full-time 6 months | Workplace/blended industry: 12 months (approx) | Traineeship: 12 months (approx)

SCHEDULE

1. Blended (on-campus and online) - for people not employed in industry. Course delivery will be weekly workshops (Tuesdays 1pm-4pm), PLUS up to 15 hours of online learning per week, PLUS personal training clinic conducted outside of class hours (days to be advised). The Personal Training Clinic will run sessions as follows:
- Sessions 1 + 12: Wodonga TAFE campus. Sessions 2-10: PT Fitness, 6 Chisholm Court, Wodonga
- Course dates: Orientation and Course Start July 2024

2. Workplace/blended industry - for people employed in industry (fitness setting). Course delivery will be Tuesdays 9am-11am on campus workshops and Zoom sessions (as per the timetable) PLUS up to 15 hours of online learning per week, PLUS personal training clinic conducted outside of class hours (days to be advised). The Personal Training Clinic will run sessions as follows:
- Sessions 1 + 12: Wodonga TAFE campus. Sessions 2-10: PT Fitness, 6 Chisholm Court, Wodonga OR at your own workplace.

3. Traineeship - for people employed in industry (fitness setting) and signed up as a trainee. Course delivery will be Tuesday morning 9am-11am on campus workshops and Zoom sessions (as per the timetable) PLUS up to 15 hours of online learning per week, PLUS personal training clinic conducted outside of class hours (days to be advised). The Personal Training Clinic will run sessions as follows:
- Sessions 1+12: Wodonga TAFE campus
- Sessions 2-10: PT Fitness, 6 Chisholm Court, Wodonga OR at your own workplace.
- Individual training plans will be developed in consultation with your employer, as part of your traineeship.

Certificate III in Fitness

Complete your qualification and gain the skills and knowledge you need to work as a professional within this energetic industry, including working independently in a range of settings, such as fitness centres, gyms, pools, or community facilities.

2. Workplace/blended industry - for people employed in industry (fitness setting). Course delivery will be Tuesday 2pm-4pm on campus workshops and Zoom sessions (as per the timetable) and self-directed online study. Study obligations are 20 hours per week in addition to face-to-face requirements.

3. Traineeship - for people employed in industry (fitness setting) and signed up as a trainee. Course delivery will be Tuesday 2pm-4pm on campus workshops and Zoom sessions (as per the timetable) and self-directed online study. Note:
- Workshops for all models of delivery will be held at Wodonga TAFE McKoy Street campus and are compulsory to attend.
- 30 hours of practical placement is compulsory - it’s great hands-on experience in your future industry!
