Overview
Units included in this course meet the BAS Agent Board registration requirements. This course incorporates the foundations of accounting, including setting up and managing accounting systems using cloud computing applications, preparing financial reports, budgeting, payroll, preparing and lodging business and instalment activity statements as well as preparing you to work as bookkeeper or within an accounts role. This course is suitable for anyone looking to get into the financial services field, or who wants to complement their current role with further understanding and learning.

Duration
Full-time: 10 months
Schedule
On-campus/blended: Starts 24 July 2025, 1 day per week on-campus (Thursdays, 9:00am - 4:00pm) plus additional online learning (approximately 8 hours per week on top of face-to-face requirements).
Traineeship: Individual training plans will be developed in consultation with your employer, as part of your traineeship.
Requirements
Students will need to have access to a computer and internet to complete coursework and assessments outside of scheduled classes. Computers will be available within scheduled classes.
Assessment
The assessments will enable students to demonstrate the underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes required to meet the course outcomes. A range of assessment strategies to meet different student’s needs will be selected.
FNSTPB412 Establish and maintain payroll systems – Assessment 1 and 2 will be independently supervised within the classroom as part of the requirements for BAS registration with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).
