Grow your Early Childhood Career - Become an Early Childhood Teacher

Apply now for Wodonga TAFE and La Trobe University’s new TAFE to University pathways partnership: Grow Early Childhood Careers Program.

  • Be mentored throughout the Grow Program as you complete your studies with Wodonga TAFE.
  • Be supported with customised university preparation and transition to La Trobe University and throughout your degree studies.

Here’s how to be a participant in the Grow Early Childhood Careers Program

  1. Have a passion for becoming an Early Childhood Teacher. Whether you are currently studying, or would like to return to study, or have left the industry but have a passion to return - the Grow Program is available to you!
     
  2. Choose your entry point:
  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care CHC30121. (Free TAFE opportunities available)
    Offered on campus at Wodonga TAFE (includes 160 hours of work placement), or as a workplace traineeship.
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care CHC50121 (Free TAFE opportunities available)
    (*Entry requirements apply). Offered as a flexible model with Wodonga TAFE to support continued ‘on the job’ learning (includes 280 hours of work placement). Traineeships are also available at Diploma level.
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
    Offered at La Trobe University Albury Wodonga as a flexible program to include continued employment and promote career progression.

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

FREE TAFE: This course is free to eligible individuals

Start your childcare career now! Learn the skills and knowledge for employment in an early childhood setting where you use organisation policies, procedures and individual children’s profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes. Depending on the setting, as an early childhood educator you may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

FREE TAFE: This course is free to eligible individuals

If you are interested in furthering your career as a leader in early childhood education, this qualification is for you. Or, if you are already working as an early childhood educator, this course will enable you to upskill your current qualifications to be leadership ready! The diploma will enable you to gain advanced skills to enable you to assist in developing, implementing and evaluating programs for children in a sensitive, caring and ethical way. Learn how to supervise staff and volunteers and to work as a director or service manager. NOTE: Students enrolling in this course must have successfully completed Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113 or CHC30121). Certified evidence is required.
