Employment Services Sector Forum 2
Monday, 27 October 2025
Last Tuesday, Wodonga TAFE welcomed 22 representatives from our region’s employment service providers to the McKoy Street campus. This important session brought together management and frontline staff from key organisations including ACAPs, GTOs, Workforce Australia, and Disability Employment Services.
This forum is the second of two organised by the Community Industry and Engagement (CIE) Team in 2025 for this specific industry sector.
The forum kicked off with Simon Macaulay explaining the amalgamation with GO TAFE, followed by two guest speakers. Scott Draper from The Personnel Group outlining significant changes to the disability employment services sector contracts with DEWR. Namely, that the program is being replaced with Inclusive Employment Australia contracts from 1 November 2025. Kate Storer from the Victorian Skills Authority highlighted the suite of online data finding tools available through the Victorian Skills Authority’s projections dashboard and the Jobs & Skills Australia Atlas,
Delivery Department Managers shared improvements and new initiatives for 2026 and CIE Manager Jen Gordon took the industry representatives through a SWOT activity to glean an understanding of what they consider strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the amalgamation with GO TAFE.
The forums are more than just information sessions, they are vital touchpoints for building strong, informed partnerships. When our industry partners understand the breadth and depth of what we offer, they’re empowered to make Wodonga TAFE their first call when supporting clients into training, apprenticeships, or career transitions.
Further, the forums reaffirm that TAFE is listening to industry and readily adapting to support community needs. The enable delivery department managers to network with industry.
Thank you to all the teams who worked together to deliver a professional and engaging session, and to our industry guests for your continued collaboration. Together, we’re helping build stronger pathways for people across our region.
– Jenny Gordon, Manager CIE
