Celebrating Our Young Students – Stella
Tuesday, 14 October 2025
Wodonga TAFE is proud to shine a spotlight on Stella, who is making the most of every opportunity in her Certificate I in Work Education course. Stella’s enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment are great examples of what young people can achieve when they embrace learning and community experiences.
Stella attends campus three days a week, taking part in a mix of classroom learning, assessments, work placements, and excursions. “We get to learn theory in class, then put it into practice out in the community,” she explains. “It’s all about building skills for work and life.”
Her favourite part of the program is getting out into the community and enjoying hands-on experiences. “Going out on work placements and excursions are the best!” Stella says. Some highlights include working with the animals at the Kangaloola Wildlife Shelter in Stanley and visiting Hyphen in Wodonga, where she enjoyed the combination of art gallery and library experiences.
Outside of TAFE, Stella continues to grow her skills and passions. She attends The Art Factory on Mondays, where her colourful marker artworks are often displayed and excitedly, three pieces have been selected for exhibition at Donkey Wheel House in Bourke Street, Melbourne. Stella also enjoys spending time with her beloved dog, Mirri.
Looking ahead, Stella plans to continue her studies with the Certificate II in Work Education in 2026, further developing her skills, building friendships, and continuing her pathway toward employment.
Through her studies and community involvement, Stella is showing how young people can thrive when given the chance to learn, connect, and explore their interests. Stella’s journey is a reminder and inspiration to other young people in our community to follow their passions and embrace opportunities.
