Wodonga TAFE Cultural Learning Sessions
The Koorie Education Unit (KEU) is proud to offer Cultural Learning sessions at the Wodonga TAFE campus weekly.
Join us every Wednesday from 11:30am to 1:30pm for cultural learning sessions at Wodonga TAFE! Come together at the Yarning Circle to share knowledge and connect with others. In case of poor weather, we'll meet at the Eddie Kneebone Gallery.
All peoples are welcome to participate.
With the cultural learning sessions, you can book the following activities:
- Weaving
- Baskets
- Earrings
- Dilly bags
- Artefact making: One month lead time required. Sessions will include elements of cultural art through carving, burning, and painting
- Clap sticks
- Coolamons
- Digging sticks
- Boomerangs
- Artefact yarn: Explore and learn about everything in our full cultural kit (artefacts made for the Koorie Education Unit by Uncle Phil Murray)
- Cultural arts: Explore ochres and natural resources alongside acrylic paints to create your own painting using traditional iconography
- Culural immersion walk: 1 hour tour exploring local bush tuckers and medicines on Wodonga TAFE's McKoy Street campus
- Cultural cooking: Johnny cakes over the fire, weather permitting
- Stories in the sand: Storytelling around the yarning circle
- Seed beads and jewellery making
- Dadirri & Wayapa: Wellbeing practices to help you connect to Country
