As part of Wodonga TAFE’s Health and Wellbeing program staff are taking part in the Tour de Office, a national initiative that sees workplaces embrace physical activity whilst raising funds for a local charity.

Beginning Monday, 21 August Wodonga TAFE CEO, Mark Dixon will be on the bike and pedalling in the first 30 minute allotment. As part of the event, riders can raise funds via sponsorship, with all proceeds being donated to Albury Wodonga Regional Foodshare.

Mr Dixon is ready to be the champion of this initiative and encourages all staff to take part. ‘It is vitally important that while we are at work we look after our physical and emotional health. I am proud to be part of the Wodonga TAFE Health and Wellbeing program and have volunteered myself for each activity that we have scheduled. As part of the Tour de Office I’m the first rider to take part to launch the week-long event.’

A 30 minute ride on a stationary bike is all it takes. The bike is set up in the Wodonga TAFE cafeteria and each ride will be streamed live, so colleagues and friends can watch each rider’s progress.

‘The message we want to share with our team is that increased activity can reduce the risk of preventable diseases. As an employer we recognise that we play an important role in encouraging our staff to look after their health and wellbeing,’ continued Mr Dixon.

The media launch is scheduled for 8.30-10am on Monday, 21 August and will include a representative from Foodshare.
