A ‘Girls Day on Track’ will be held this Sunday 14 May, from 8am until 4.30pm at Wodonga TAFE’s Logic Campus, Albertson Road, Barnawartha North.

The Girls Day on Track is the brainchild of Genevieve Stumpf and Jessica Rose from Murray Valley Training Co, that runs motorcycle track days and coaching at the track throughout the year. This innovative event aims to raise awareness and critical funds for the Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon Foundation. Wodonga TAFE is proud to support the event by donating the cost of the track hire for the day.

Spectators are welcome at this public event for the small cost of a gold coin donation, with a variety of family-friendly activities scheduled throughout the day. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Cancer Council for women’s cancers. Media Manager for Murray Valley Training Co, Jessica Rose, said that although the event is focused as a ladies ride day, it is also open to juniors from 6 years of age to 16 years, with all riding levels and bikes including scooters, cruisers and sports most welcome.

“We have an amazing list of activities and competitions organised, with events to suit everyone and all levels of riding experience from novice upwards. While the day is still based around the females, we also have a couples session where couples can enjoy being on track together”, said Jessica.

“Chas Hern Racing is supporting this event, with rides on the two-up super bike available as raffle prizes. We will have bikes available to sit on for photo opportunities for a gold coin donation. And leading stunt rider and on-track entertainer ‘Lukey Luke’ is performing for two sessions throughout the day – it really will be a great family day out! If people would like to pre-register for the event, the links are available on the MVTC website or via the MVTC Facebook page.”

Wodonga TAFE’s Motorsports Training Australia will have their training workshop open for tours, with their suite of vehicles, including the Formula Ford, on display.

The MTA track will be put to good use over the weekend, with Murray Valley Training Co also running a Track and Coaching Day on Saturday 13 May.
