Hazardous Area Authority

Overview

A Hazardous Area Authority is required for drivers of vehicles that have 13 or more seats (including the driver) and who wish to drive in proclaimed 'hazardous areas' for the Victorian Alpine region during the snow season.

Holders of a Hazardous Area Authority (HAA) are only permitted to drive a vehicle for which they have undertaken hazardous area training. A HAA does not allow the holder to drive a vehicle if they do not have the appropriate driver licence category. A HAA Refresher must be completed prior to Authority expiration.

Hazardous Area Authority Entry-Course: This is a TWO and a HALF DAYS course for drivers that need to obtain their HAA endorsement. The opportunity to participate in HAA training is limited due to the short delivery window & small class numbers.

Hazardous Area Authority REFRESHER: This is a ONE and a HALF DAYS course for drivers that need to renew their HAA endorsement. We offer refresher training and assessment, as required by VicRoads. The opportunity to participate in HAA training is limited due to the short delivery window & small class numbers.

Requirements

To participate in this course, you must:

• hold a current vehicle class Driver's Licence.
• have experience in operating heavy buses and/or coaches.
• bring a current work diary to the course.

Please note that this training is delivered from Bright accessing Mount Hotham.

Assessment

Students must pass both a written assessment and a practical driving assessment in order to successfully complete this course.

Fees Additional Information

$1,800 (New Drivers), $1,200 (Refresher)
Training vehicle supplied by client. Individuals will be directed to a group where they may have space for another student. Prices are per person prices, but the course must run on a minimum and maximum of four (4). Accommodation and meal expenses are borne by the student or their company.
