About this Course

Incorporating the Certificate IV and Diploma programs into one remedial massage course, these studies will provide you with the skills you require for complete competence in remedial massage practice. On successful completion you may be self-employed as an independent practitioner or may work within a larger health service. With your intensive training, you will be able to apply for provider recognition with health funds. This course also provides you with a direct pathway into the Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy 22316VIC as an opportunity to advance your training and knowledge to the next level.

Duration

Full-time: 15 months

Delivery Schedule

Three days per week, Monday to Wednesday, 9am-5pm

Field Placement

Students will complete 200 hours of clinical placement throughout the course. During relevant stages of the course, all students will be scheduled to take part in a supervised student massage clinic at Wodonga TAFE, which is open to the public. There is also an expectation that students will practice their skills in the broader community. Students will also participate in on-site placement opportunities which will be arranged by your placement coordinator. The times and days of these sessions may vary to suit the establishment of which the student will be attending. Students may be required to have a current police check, and working with children check to attend specific clinical placement venues.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites for the Diploma of Remedial Massage, however you will need a high level of maturity and responsibility to cope with the demands of academic and practical aspects of this course.
