About this Course
Are you creative and technical-minded? Successful completion of this course may help you find employment opportunities assisting architects, builders, and building designers as a draftsperson. You will work with assisting in the design of all components in the construction of residential, commercial and industrial buildings, using AutoCAD, Revit and other programs. This course also incorporates the legislative requirements designers must adhere to for buildings, whether it be council or government restrictions. This course will directly articulate into the Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural) program at Wodonga TAFE.

The assessments will enable students to demonstrate the underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes required to meet the course outcomes. A range of assessment strategies to meet different student’s needs will be selected, including written work, practical work, demonstrations and exhibiting your work and skills.
If you haven't achieved the following unit, you will be required to undertake this further one day course: "OHS Construction Induction White Card (Unit CPCCOHS1001A: Work safely in the construction industry" in order to complete this qualification.
By successfully completing this course you will receive an AQF Qualification.

Full-time: 12 months
9am-5pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Feb-Nov. Additional self-directed studies are expected (two days per week).
There are no entry requirements for this course, however we recommend you have at least completed year 10. Prior to enrolment you will need to attend a pre-training review.
During this course you will be required to attend building sites. Therefore, you must hold a current OHS Construction Induction White Card (Unit CPCCOHS1001A: Work safely in the construction industry) in order to complete relevant units. If you have not achieved this exact unit CPCCOHS1001A, you will need to enrol in the course separately with Wodonga TAFE. This course runs for one day.
