Certificate III in Landscape Construction

Overview

This is the base qualification required to gain a registration with the Building Commission of Victoria or a structural landscape licence in NSW. You will learn skills with paving, retaining walls, concreting, drainage and plant identification and establishment. This trade-level course could lead you to work as a self-employed landscape contractor or become a tradesperson or supervisor for a landscape company or a local government landscape crew.

Delivery

• Delivered as a block release on 4 days per month (8 blocks per year).
• The remaining study and assessment is completed at your workplace.

Requirements

You need basic literacy and numeracy skills. -You must be employed in the field and/or currently undertaking a apprenticeship.

Assessment

The assessments will enable students to demonstrate the underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes required to meet the course outcomes. These will involve the assessment of your practical and theoretical knowledge through written assignments and practical project work.

-Costing, planning and setting out a site for a project -Drainage and retaining walls -Soil profiling and OHS processes -Plants and their cultures -Implement plant establishment programs -Construct landscape features using concrete, stone and brick and/or blocks

Fees indicated are inclusive of all units required for the FULL (3-4 Year) duration of the apprenticeship and are subject to applicable credit transfer or RPL. The units you will undertake in your studies vary depending upon your line of work and/or personal choice. This means prices for tuition fees can only be given as an approximation. The student tuition fees published are indicative only and can be subject to change given individual circumstances at the time of enrolment.
