Overview
If you are interested in gardening or horticulture, then this is your starting point. Horticulture covers a range of sectors including turf management, landscaping, parks and gardens, arboriculture, and nursery work. This course provides you with the skills and knowledge required for employment in the horticultural industry in organisations such as local councils, landscape contracting businesses, golf courses or nurseries.

Requirements
Basic literacy and numeracy skills are required. You need to wear suitable clothing and footwear, for example, safety boots, broad-brimmed hat, collared shirt. Some other personal protective equipment will be required depending on units of study, for example, earplugs or earmuffs are required when using machinery.
Assessment
The assessments will enable students to demonstrate the underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes required to meet the course outcomes. A range of assessment strategies to meet different student’s needs will be selected, including written and practical assessments.
