Successful completion of these pre-requisite units and a specific unit from the Diploma of Arboriculture are recommended before scheduled classes begin. **However, they ARE NOT a pre-requisite to enrol in the Diploma.** This Cluster of units will provide students with the skills and knowledge to be competent in a range of activities and functions within the Arboriculture industry, enabling students to pathway from Arborist or related field into a Consulting Arborist. Students will learn to identify trees and inspect trees for access and work, and to perform a ground based tree defect evaluation.

The method of assessment varies and can include (but is not limited to):
Observation in the workplace or simulated environment
Research tasks, including projects
By successfully completing this short course you will gain a Statement of Attainment for the nationally accredited units that you have completed.

• You need to comply with minimum age requirements to be eligible for national licences.
• Participants must have sufficient knowledge of the English language to perform work safely.
• Preferably Certificate III or higher in Aboriculture (any stream) qualified and/or have significant relevant industry experience.

Applicants will need to enrol in both the Arboriculture Entry Cluster and in the Diploma of Arboriculture, to complete the required pre-requisite units in order to complete their Diploma.
