Course Overview
Overview
Looking to launch a career in Engineering, Fabrication or Welding? This course provides a broad, hands-on introduction to engineering and manufacturing - building the skills and knowledge needed for entry-level employment, apprenticeships or traineeships across mechanical engineering, fabrication and manufacturing careers.
You'll develop practical skills across a range of engineering disciplines, including:
- Manual Metal Arc (MMAW) and Gas Metal Arc (GMAW) welding
- Thermal cutting processes
- Fabrication techniques
- Basic machining
- Engineering drafting and interpreting drawings
- Safe use of hand and power tools
- Occupational health and safety
You'll also gain broader knowledge of the engineering sector and employment pathways, and complete an applied engineering project; giving you real, demonstrable experience to take into the workforce.
Whether you're aiming for an apprenticeship, traineeship or general employment in an engineering workplace, this qualification shows employers not just your skills, but your commitment to your chosen trade.
