Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural)

Are you creative and technical-minded? If you've successfully completed Year 12 or have relevant experience in the industry, successful completion of this course may help you find employment opportunities with architects, builders, building designers, building inspectors, or surveyors. You will work with designing all components in the construction of residential, commercial and industrial buildings, using AutoCAD, Revit and other programs. This course also incorporates the legislative requirements designers must adhere to for buildings, whether it be council or government restrictions or bushfire attack levels (BAL). This course may articulate into further study at degree level, in architecture, building construction management or interior design. This qualification leads to your registration as a building designer, as required by the Victorian Building Authority. This course is typically completed as a dual-qualification with the Certificate IV in Building Design Drafting, extending the duration to 3 years total. Students can gain access to the Advanced Diploma-only course in a fast-tracked study mode, but in order to gain entry students must be currently working in the field or have sound experience in building design or the building industry.
