Trades Training Centre

About the Trades Training Centre

From extensive industry research and consultation, Wodonga TAFE identified the need for increased participation for skills shortages, with industry also wanting better training facilities for their staff. As a result, a new Trades Training Centre is being built on our McKoy Street campus (access via Moorefield Park Drive) to address future industry needs.

The Trades Training Centre will be an impressive multi-level building, incorporating modern classrooms and hands-on practical workspaces. It will cater for multiple trades with mobile equipment available for quality learning practices.

Along with our current training capability in Cabinetry, Furniture Making, and Carpentry, in the future we are looking to expand into other industry areas such as Electrical and Plumbing.

The construction of this project is anticipated to be completed in 2022.

Late June 2022 Update

The Trade Training Centre is looking fantastic - with colour on the external walls, the internal doors painted the familiar teal of Wodonga TAFE, and the splash of blue in the centre of the building hinting at what is coming.

All the plaster is on the walls and a little bit more to go on the ceilings, then it’s complete.

All the external windows are in and painting downstairs is all but finished.

A new structure has started…. watch this space!

Our concrete behemoth has been erected and the floor will be poured shortly. No, it’s not a swimming pool!

Wodonga TAFE's Interior Design students walked through the building late last week and have submitted designs for consideration. The interior furnishings and colour selections for the Trades Training Centre will be chosen from these designs. And we must say, they did a great job!
