Our 2020 Course Guide has launched! Here’s why it’s so early and how it will help you for next year!

Tuesday, 16 July 2019

It’s already mid-year and the beginning of Term 3 at Wodonga TAFE. As this is the start of the planning stage for secondary school leavers for the first year out of school, it means you are being faced with a lot of decision making challenges.

For this reason, we launch our course guide for the new year at this time! So you have the ability to think about your options and research all the various paths you could be following, leaving you enough time to make informed decisions that work for you.

Our 2020 course guide is available now on our website at www.wodongatafe.edu.au/courseguide. If you would like a physical copy you can check with your careers counsellor at your secondary school or come and grab one from our customer service team at our McKoy St campus.

This handy little guide covers all the courses that will be on offer next year and is complete with interesting resources and factual information covering salary expectations and job growth prospects, all of which could help you make a more informed decision.

Part of the reason we want to get our guide out so early for the new year, is so that you, the school leaver, can get in front of the pack and be ready to apply if you already know the direction you want to take. Courses fill up fast at Wodonga TAFE, so we don’t want you to miss out on the course you have been dreaming of.

Here are just a few reasons why you might want to sign up to a course at Wodonga TAFE prior to the end of the year:

1. Employers are seeking skilled staff with practical experience under their belts, even for entry level jobs. Wodonga TAFE incorporates hands-on, practical work experience in most courses, giving you a head start on the job as you have already practiced the physical skills required to succeed in the role.

2. You want to be able to work straight out of secondary school but still want a qualification. Wodonga TAFE offers flexible training, giving you more opportunities to get a job and start earning straight away, while still studying towards your dream career. Some courses have you qualified enough for a job after 6 months, some take a little longer, but either way there are many opportunities for you to start working sooner.

3. You are not certain you will get the score you need for University and are looking for another option. Wodonga TAFE has amazing pathway opportunities that could get you into your chosen University course, some of them even offer credits towards your degree. We also have pathways straight to Industry through Apprenticeships and Traineeships.

Don’t be afraid to apply early to Wodonga TAFE. By doing so, helps to give you peace of mind that you won’t miss out on the course you are hoping to study. Another benefit is that if you change your mind, you don’t have to worry because you are not locked in straight away!

So, keep an eye out on the courses you are interested in as applications for these courses open prior to the end of the school year. To ensure you don’t miss out, you can contact our customer service team if you would like to be placed on the wait list for a particular course (call 1300 698 233), they can then let you know once the course enrolments are open.

ONE MORE THING!

FREE TAFE will be happening again next year! So this also puts the need for getting prepared and applying early at the very top of your list of priorities. With the courses that will be on offer as FREE TAFE opportunities at Wodonga TAFE still to be confirmed, you never know, it could be your course! So don’t forget to get your name down, and get ahead of the rest!
