Business success for ex Wodonga TAFE student

Tuesday, 19 February 2019

Zac Hayes is the owner of HA Accounting firm that was recently awarded at the SMSF and Accounting Awards as ‘Fastest growing firm in Victoria.’ The business also picked up ‘New firm of the Year’ and Zac himself personally won ‘Professional of the year – regional’ 2018.

For a young man of 26 years old, this is truly a remarkable success. Starting out as an accountant employee for a local firm, Zac wanted to find a new approach to better assist his clients and came across Wodonga TAFE’s New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) program.

NEIS is a comprehensive program of assistance, providing accredited training in small business management, business advice and mentoring and offering ongoing income support for a period up to 12 months to eligible participants.

As part of the NEIS program, Zac completed the Certificate III in Micro Business Operations with Wodonga TAFE in 2016. Upon graduating he continued on to achieve his dream of developing and running his small business, HA Accounting. With the support and mentoring that Zac received via the NEIS program, he has been able to develop his business idea into a thriving small business, with two offices based in the Riverina region.

Read the full story of Zac’s success as featured on the National NEIS Association website.
