Where this course may lead

You develop the skills and knowledge you need to work in a variety of roles including as an animation/visual effects designer, an information architect, an instructional designer, an interactive media developer, or an interface designer.

What you learn

This exciting course incorporates Certificate III in Media and Certificate IV in Interactive Digital Media. Your studies include specialising in popular digital media including the internet, 3-D animation, electronic games, television, and sound and digital design.

Entry requirements

  • There are no formal pre-requisites for this qualification. We recommend that you have completed Year 10 as a minimum, or that you enrol as a mature-aged student.
  • If you have a relevant certificate IV qualification, or you are seeking recognition of prior learning or credit transfer, you may only need to attend some classes.
  • Completion of some prerequisite units may be necessary.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Practical, portfolio, and assignment-based as well as self-initiated projects and a practical placement component. If you already work in the industry, you have the opportunity to be assessed in the workplace.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification.
