Wednesday, 7 November 2018

Wodonga TAFE’s Motorsports Training Australia (MTA) Students will celebrate their graduation on Friday 16 November 2018, from 10:30 am until 1 pm at Wodonga TAFE’s Logic Campus, 45 Albertson Road, Barnawartha North.

Graduates will have completed either a Certificate III or a Certificate IV in Motor Sports Technology. Students have completed a range of placements throughout their study, both in industry and with racing partners, enabling our students to get real workplace experience and build industry connections.

Wodonga TAFE’s motor sports training programs are recognised as some of the leading motorsports technology and mechanical programs in Australia. Over the years Wodonga TAFE and MTA has formed strong working relationships with industry, with MTA graduates being highly sought after throughout the motorsports industry, including V8 Supercar Championships.

MTA team leader, David Camper spoke about these industry partnerships, discussing the fantastic opportunity that this gives to our students, “Having developed these relationships with some of the biggest names in the industry, it really sets us apart from other training providers. We really take pride in our industry connections, as it gives our students the ability to see firsthand the variety of work that is required in the motorsports industry and the expectations of those working in it”.

It’s not only the depth of industry knowledge and partnerships that create a great learning experience for our students, our focus on ‘hands on’ education is key, whether that be in the workshop, or track-side, in ensuring our graduates are ready for employment.

MTA’s state of the art facilities, including classrooms, the large workshop and the 1.6 kilometre-long, 11-metre-wide circuit, adheres to all Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) safety standards. These facilities are fully stocked with the latest technologies, giving our students experience in a wide variety of skills including; automotive, engineering fitting and machining, fabrication and composites (fibreglass). Having this variety of skills included in the course, enables students to discover their passion, whilst improving through the hands on learning approach.

We again congratulate our MTA students for a wonderful year, and wish them all good luck for their future endeavours.
