Support Services Winter Warmers Event

Friday, 26 July 2019

Wodonga TAFE, transformed the cafeteria into a Winter Wonderland to celebrate Support Services Winter Warmers event and raise much needed funds for Albury Wodonga Animal Rescue (AWAR).

With all proceeds going to AWAR, the Wodonga TAFE Events, Hospitality and VCAL students assisted in decorating the cafeteria and student lounge to alter it into a Winter Wonderland, Cat Café & Puppy Patting space. For just a gold coin donation, students were able to relax and cuddle one of the cats or puppies up for adoption at the AWAR, receive a delicious bowl of soup or cup of hot chocolate, create essential oils with their desired scents and cosy up next to a fire pit with camping chairs and games.

The children at Kids on Campus created Winter themed art exhibition that was on display while Wodonga TAFEs Engineering Fabrication teacher, Duane Hicks, created a Support Services fire pit to keep everyone warm while they were enjoying their soup and hot chocolates. The students doing their Certificate II in Horticulture (Market Gardens) had various plants, and produce available for just a gold coin donation going towards AWAR.

The Winter Warmers event raised over $330 for the Albury Wodonga Animal Rescue and created a warm and welcoming atmosphere to celebrate Winter at Wodonga TAFE.
