GOTAFE and Wodonga TAFE Amalgamation Update - 2027 Student Enrolments
Monday, 19 October 2026
GOTAFE and Wodonga TAFE are now part of Northern Victoria Institute of TAFE (NVITAFE), bringing together the strengths, expertise and resources of two trusted regional TAFEs.
This means students of Wodonga TAFE, and of select courses (see below) of GOTAFE, will begin to see NVITAFE mentioned in more resources, systems and communications.
This is expected, is part of our process to form NVITAFE, and doesn't affect how or where training is delivered.
Wodonga TAFE (RTO 3097) 2027 applications and commencements
To make systems access easier for students, all new students commencing with us (RTO 3097) in 2027 will receive @nvitafe.edu.au email addresses during the registration and application process, as well as once students are formally admitted and enrolled.
This change does not affect student's study, how the training is delivered or where it's delivered. It's purely an administrative change to ensure we can provide the best access to our systems and services.
Students who already have an account with Wodonga TAFE (and an @wodongatafe.edu.au login) can continue to use this with no issues.
Select apprenticeship GOTAFE (RTO 3094) 2027 applications and commencements
A small number of courses are transitioning from RTO 3094 (GOTAFE) to RTO 3097 (NVITAFE). Only students who have two or more units left will be transitioned to RTO 3097 (subject to meeting some requirements), as well as any new students.

This is expected and does not affect how or where training is delivered.
For these courses, training will continue to be delivered locally at the listed GOTAFE campus in Shepparton or Wangaratta.
