Logic Innovation Precinct marks a new chapter for regional innovation

Thursday, 8 October 2026

Looking back on a milestone weekend for the Logic Innovation Precinct.

In early September, we officially opened the nation-leading Logic Innovation Precinct at Barnawartha North, marking a significant step forward for regional skills, innovation and industry-connected training.

Supported by $24 million in Commonwealth Government funding and complemented by a $5 million Victorian Government investment in future fuels and clean energy training, the precinct brings together heavy vehicle technology, advanced manufacturing, automation and robotics in one purpose-built environment.

Designed in partnership with industry, the precinct will help prepare students and workers for the rapidly evolving transport, logistics and manufacturing sectors, while strengthening workforce capability across our region.

The momentum continued the following day with the MTA/Logic Open Day, welcoming the community through the gates to experience the precinct firsthand. Visitors explored the Advanced Manufacturing Hub, watched track demonstrations, took part in hands-on activities and connected with industry partners.

NVITAFE CEO Phil Paterson said the precinct will play an important role in preparing our region for the skills needs of the future.

“These new facilities give us the capability to prepare workforces for the skills needs of the future, while creating a space for collaboration, experimentation and innovation across transport, logistics, advanced manufacturing, Defence, emergency services and education.”
