Community Services Students Put Community Values into Practice

Certificate II in Community Services (CHC22015) students have been hard at work preparing for their final assessment project. Drawing on the skills and knowledge gained throughout their course, they are coming together to host a donation drive and on-campus activities in support of the Amuka Foundation.
The Amuka Foundation [FB tagged] supports communities in Kenya by empowering young people through access to education and essential support services. The organisation works to prevent and relieve poverty by advancing education, health and wellbeing, while helping to create long-term positive change in the communities it serves.
If you'd like to support this important cause, the students are collecting new, unopened sanitary and personal care items. Donation bins are located throughout the McKoy Street campus and will be available from today until Friday 18 September. Current students and staff will be encouraged to get involved with on-campus activities such as a scavenger hunt, guess the lollies competition and creating a hope chain.
