Youth Spotlight: Piper

Piper’s journey is driven by one simple idea - keep learning until you find what feels right.
After finishing Year 12, Piper began a Certificate III in Business Administration (BSB30120) traineeship, gaining valuable experience while working and studying. Although she completed the program, she realised she was still searching for something more. Instead of settling, Piper chose to explore further, guided by her curiosity and a desire to challenge herself.
This led her to the Certificate II in Electrotechnology (UEE22020). With an interest in physics and hands-on learning, she decided to step into a completely new field and “give it a go.” For Piper, it’s not about having everything figured out; it’s about trying different pathways, learning along the way, and growing through each experience.
At TAFE, she especially enjoys the workshop, where she can apply her knowledge in a simulated real-world environment. It’s here that her curiosity shines, as she builds practical skills and gains confidence in something new.
Outside of study, Piper stays active and creative. She has played tennis for over 12 years, enjoys art like clay modelling, and spends time gardening, finding satisfaction in hands-on tasks both at home and in her studies.
Looking ahead, Piper hopes to continue combining work and study through a traineeship or apprenticeship, possibly in electrical drawing. While her final career path is still evolving, her mindset is clear—keep learning, keep trying, and keep growing.
Piper’s story is a great reminder that discovering your future doesn’t happen all at once—it’s shaped through curiosity, courage, and a willingness to try something new.
