Friday, 30 January 2026
Born and raised in Wodonga, Zack is a passionate and driven individual whose journey in the world of graphic design is nothing short of inspiring. His love for art has always been a defining part of who he is, and this passion has guided him toward building a career in the creative industry.
Zack’s educational journey began in 2023 at just 22 years of age, when he enrolled in the Certificate II in Printing and Graphic Arts at Wodonga TAFE. This short course sparked his interest in design and opened the door to new possibilities. From there, Zack pursued the Certificate III in Prepress Graphic Design Production, where his talent and commitment quickly stood out. Although he didn’t complete the course, his skills earned him a nomination to compete in the Regional WorldSkills Australia Competition in Wangaratta. Over six hours of challenging tasks, Zack showcased his creativity and technical ability, ultimately winning Silver—a remarkable achievement that highlighted his potential.
Building on this success, Zack continued his studies and is now completing the Certificate IV in Graphic Design. His decision to take this next step was fuelled by his desire to deepen his knowledge and refine his skills. Zack attends campus two days a week, immersing himself in both theory and practical projects. His favourite part of design? The creative process—taking an idea from concept to reality and watching it evolve through sketching and development.
Zack’s dedication extends beyond the classroom. In 2024, he was invited to represent Wodonga TAFE and Victoria at the National WorldSkills Competition in Brisbane—a prestigious event attended by thousands. Competing against students with advanced qualifications, Zack demonstrated resilience and courage, gaining invaluable experience in time management, interpreting briefs, and working under pressure. This opportunity gave him confidence and reinforced his belief in his capabilities.
Currently, Zack is working part-time in a local screen-printing business, a role that aligns perfectly with his career goals. He plans to transition to full-time work after completing his Certificate IV and hopes to continue his education by pursuing a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design. Alongside his studies and work, Zack is actively developing his own clothing brand, combining his artistic talent with entrepreneurial ambition.
Those who have worked with Zack describe him as having a “quiet, unassuming personal strength and grit—admirable and courageous.” His journey reflects determination, creativity, and a willingness to embrace challenges. With aspirations to grow his brand and advance in the design industry, Zack is well on his way to making a lasting impact.
