Celebrating Klancie Star’s Passion and Commitment to Photography
Klancie Star is a shining example of determination and creativity, balancing her Year 12 studies at Tallangatta with a Certificate IV in Photography and Digital Design (CUA41120) at TAFE. Her journey into photography began at a young age, sparked by a deep interest that has only grown stronger over the years. When Klancie discovered that her school didn’t offer subjects like Media or Art, she took the initiative to seek out other opportunities—leading her to TAFE, where she could pursue her passion in a hands-on learning environment.
Klancie’s vision for the future is clear and inspiring. After completing her TAFE course, she plans to secure a part-time role in photography or within a camera retail store to gain practical experience. Her ambitions extend beyond the classroom—she dreams of capturing breathtaking travel moments and photographing major sporting events such as tennis matches, football games, and Formula 1 races. These experiences will help her build a strong portfolio and pave the way toward a successful career in photography.
One of the aspects Klancie enjoys most about her TAFE experience is connecting with like-minded students in an adult learning environment. She values the positive and motivating atmosphere, which fuels her creativity and growth. Recently, Klancie has been fascinated by the history of photography, exploring how the industry and equipment have evolved over the past 200 years. She’s also honing her technical skills in Photoshop, mastering techniques like masking, retouching, and dodge and burn to perfect her images.
For Klancie, the highlight of being a TAFE student is the hands-on experience—working with high-quality camera equipment and learning alongside passionate peers. Her dedication, curiosity, and drive to succeed make her an outstanding example of what can be achieved through hard work and a love for learning.
