Living an active and healthy lifestyle is something we should all aspire to, and Gabrielle Bartel is doing just that – and much more!

Gabrielle studied Certificate III and IV in Fitness at Wodonga TAFE and since completing her qualifications, she has stepped up and grown her niche in the fitness industry.

Gabrielle was successful in gaining a position at AllFit Albury, taking a group fitness class on Wednesday nights.

“I have been taking classes for a while now, and I really enjoy this! I have also been lucky enough to become part of a co-partnership within the business.

Gabrielle has also taken her involvement in the fitness industry a step further and started her own business.

“My business is called Kangatraining – it’s a post-natal workout designed for mums and bubs. I am also going to further my studies into Pre-Kanga which is exercise for pregnant women.”

“Studying at Wodonga TAFE gave me the confidence to enable me to pursue Kangatraining. My goal is to help new mums gain confidence within themselves post-baby and for pregnant women to stay fit, active and health during pregnancy.”

Gabrielle said that the best part about her job was seeing her clients grow each week – grow as a person and grow in confidence!

“There is nothing more satisfying then seeing a happy client achieve their goals. I also enjoy seeing the friendships that are formed from the weekly group sessions.”

“The course and the trainers at Wodonga TAFE taught me so much and helped me to be the trainer I am today, from the physical hands-on, to our learning in class.

“I learned a lot about nutrition and how all the energy systems work and connect with each other. I learned how to plan a program for each individual and their needs. I also learned how important technique is – it’s not always about how heavy or fast you can go, it’s about having the right technique and making sure that you are working and engaging the right muscles used for the specific exercise."

"I would highly recommend Wodonga TAFE if you are looking to become a personal trainer or study in fitness!”

And if you aspire to a career in the fitness industry, you can start right now! Courses start very soon.
