Career opportunities in the metal and fabrication industry are numerous with skilled tradespeople in extremely high demand. Our fully-equipped metal industries workshops cater for students at all levels, from introductory welding to engineering trades. Many of the region’s fabrication and welding apprentices from small to large manufacturers undertake their ‘block release’ practicals in these workshops.

Gain new skills in welding or update and extend your current knowledge. If you have little or no knowledge of welding then complete a short course to gain skills so you can complete small welding jobs or gain a start in the welding trade. Or develop your existing welding skills further and learn more complex welding methods across the many welding disciplines, such as gas metal arc, manual metal arc, gas tungsten arc, or oxyacetylene welding.

We have a range of Design and Machining courses to further develop your engineering skills, or to give you the ability to design at home.
