Work ConnectED is on! Come to the biggest careers event on the Border!

Monday, 30 September 2019

Next month Wodonga TAFE will be hosting the biggest career event on the border with Work ConnectED to be happening Thursday 24 October.

Work ConnectED is a hands on career expo where attendees have the opportunity to speak with employers directly about job opportunities that are on offer.

Its aim is to connect students, job seekers and career changers with employers from the Albury Wodonga region.

Students will have the benefit of being able to find out first-hand what sort of skills experience and qualifications the employers they are interested in working for are looking for when they hire. This will help them tailor their education to suit the role should they need to.

Career changers are able to discuss their previous experience and find out what they may need to do to upskill, if necessary, their qualifications to suit industries that are hoping to move into.

Creating connections and networking with key industry professional and the hiring staff of particular businesses has never been more accessible for those in the job seeking market.

Some of the key benefits to the day:

  • Talk to those in the know – talk to real people about what it is really like to work in their industry.
  • Bust the myths – Find out what work experience, education and training you really need to get your foot in the door.
  • Plan your path – get the support you need from local job services and education providers so that you know what you need to do to get into an industry you love.
  • Attend ‘employability’ sessions - Fun, interactive sessions run by local employers, telling you what they look for when hiring staff.

The event will be held Thursday 24 October at 12.30pm-3pm on the ground of Wodonga TAFE’s main campus on McKoy Street in West Wodonga. All job seekers, students and career changers are invited to come along and enjoy interactive activities and the amazing opportunity to network with local businesses.
