Motorsports Training Australia 2019 Open Day!

Wednesday, 10 July 2019

Wodonga TAFE’s Motorsports Training Australia (MTA) is hosting an Open Day on Saturday 3 August 2019, from 10 am until 2:30 pm at Wodonga TAFE’s Logic Campus, 45 Albertson Road, Barnawartha North.

The open day aims to promote the Certificate III in Motor Sports Technology, which is designed to bring prospective students into the motorsports industry. There will be a range of activities on the day, providing visitors with the chance to gain a hands-on understanding of the course.

Current MTA students and trainers will be on hand to answer all questions about the course; helping future students get a better understanding of the course requirements and content, career opportunities and placements, in addition to the availability of accommodation at Wodonga TAFE throughout the course.

Chris Rissmann, MTA’s newest teacher and Wodonga TAFE Alumni, recalled attending an Open Day back in 2004 and the excitement he had on the day, “Coming to the open day really highlighted to me my desire to work in the motorsports industry”. Chris added, “I knew from day dot it’s the industry I love and I’m excited to see the next generation of motorsports mechanics coming through the door on the 3rd of August”

Attendants will have a walk through tour of our modern MTA facilities, including classrooms and workshop, not to mention the 1.6 kilometre-long, 11-metre-wide professional race track! Some activities on the day will include:

  • See and hear the MTA V8 Supercar
  • Displays of data logging and engine management systems
  • Tours – Logic campus, Wodonga TAFE site & on-site accommodation
  • Displays of student work with composites
  • Chassis dyno demonstration
  • Free BBQ, hot & cold drinks available.

Wodonga TAFE’s motorsports training programs are recognised as some of the leading motorsport technology and mechanical programs in Australia. Throughout the years Wodonga TAFE has forged strong working relationships with industry, with MTA graduates being highly sought after by many racing teams.
