Selection Process 


Applications for Wodonga TAFE’s Destination Australia Round 5 one-year scholarships close 9am, Monday 19 February 2024.

Applications for Wodonga TAFE’s Destination Australia Round 5 two-year scholarships close 9am, Monday 4 March 2024.

Late applications will not be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Applications will be assessed by an Assessment Panel with recommendations made to the Executive at Wodonga TAFE for endorsement.

Applications will be assessed against criteria which will include:

  • Career aspirations
  • Previous studies
  • Key strengths
  • Barriers to success
  • Demonstrated disadvantage
  • Personal commitment to the regional area 

All applications will be required to support their application through the provision of evidence to substantiate their personal situation.

Priority will be given to students from underrepresented groups such as:

  • Low socio-economic status
  • Those who are first in the family to enter into tertiary study
  • Those living with a disability
  • First Nations People

The Assessment Panel reserves the right to interview and/or request for additional evidence in the assessment of any shortlisted applications.

All applicants will receive notification of the outcome of their application.
 

Eligibility 


Eligibility for the Destination Australia scholarship includes:

  • Must be an Australian citizen or one of:
    - Permanent resident of Australia
    - Permanent humanitarian Visa holder
    - New Zealand citizen
  • Must be completing a full time course at Wodonga TAFE
  • No more than one third of the course may be delivered by distance or online.
  • Must have commenced this particular course in 2024
  • Must be maintaining ongoing residency in our regional area
Employees of Wodonga TAFE and their immediate family, including spouse/partner, children or parents are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
 

There are 18 Scholarships available for distribution in Round 5. 

Please see below a list of eligible courses with Wodonga TAFE with a one-year duration (9 scholarships available) for Round 5:

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
  • Certificate IV in Community Services
  • Certificate IV in Motor Sport Technology

Please see below a list of eligible courses with Wodonga TAFE with a two-year duration (9 scholarships available) for Round 5:

  • Diploma of Nursing
  • Diploma of Community Services
