Online Service Standards


Wodonga TAFE offers a number of courses delivered partly or wholly online, to enhance the learning experience and provide a more flexible mode of study. The following standards outline what you as a Wodonga TAFE student can expect when engaging with our online learning and/or assessment activities.

Student support and engagement

  • Wodonga TAFE’s primary online learning tool is Moodle and you receive your login details when you are enrolled as a student.
  • On enrolment you are provided with the most appropriate contact details for your trainer/assessor. You should contact this person with any concerns about your course.
  • For technical support with Moodle, you should contact Wodonga TAFE's HelpDesk, Monday to Friday during business hours on 02 6055 6565.
  • As a student studying online you have access to Wodonga TAFE’s Support Services, which can be viewed on this website via www.wodongatafe.edu.au/studentsupport
  • Wodonga TAFE may ask you for feedback from time-to-time through surveys, however if you have feedback or concerns at any time, you should contact your trainer/assessor in the first instance, or contact us using the method that suits you www.wodongatafe.edu.au/Contact-us
  • Collaborative learning opportunities may be provided to you so you can interact with fellow students through the creation of online group discussion forums.
  • As a student, if you are identified as not engaging in your online course you will be contacted initially by your trainer/assessor.

 Learning using digital technology

  • As part of our application process we will assess your digital literacy skills to ensure you get the maximum experience from our online resources. If we identified a need for further development of your digital literacy skills, we will discuss these options with you.
  • You will access your learning materials using the Moodle learning management system. Follow this link to access detailed information regarding hardware and software requirements for you to access your course materials.
  • Following enrolment, you will be provided with an online induction to Moodle by your trainer/assessor, and will be supported by a variety of help resources within Moodle.
  • Moodle is the software platform used to deliver online content and aims to meet the WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility guidelines.

Learning and assessment

  • Learning and assessment is optimised using various formats of activities and tasks.
  • Learning and assessment tools in the online environment are subject to the same quality reviews as other learning resources and assessment tools.
  • Practical skills will be assessed through face-to-face observation or video, and must be arranged with the trainer/assessor.
  • Assessment tasks will be marked and feedback provided to you within 10 business days from completion of assessments.

Trainers and assessors of online learning

  • Wodonga TAFE is committed to ensuring trainers and assessors of online learning have the required skills to deliver an engaging learning experience. Wodonga TAFE provides regular professional development for its staff in online learning.
