Learn basic skills in welding with this 2-day short course

Tuesday, 27 August 2019

Our short course, Introduction to Welding, has been designed to give people with no previous experience an entry-level understanding of welding and introduce some basic welding methods.

Throughout the two days, you will learn to operate a welder safely, and learn which protective equipment is required to protect yourself, before moving on to learning how to plan and construct a welding project. There will also be a small amount of theoretical training, which is important to ensuring safe use of the equipment.

Students are given lot of time to put the theory into practice, as the majority of the course is hands-on, practical training. You will learn common welding techniques like manual metal arc and gas metal arc (MIG) welding that will help you complete small projects around your home or in the workplace.

If you are wanting to build skills and understanding around welding prior to taking on more demanding welding courses or are looking for employment in the welding industry, then this short course is a fantastic introduction and ‘taster’ of what to expect.

It is also ideal for those who are wanting to be able to do a few small welding jobs around the home or farm.

Our next Introduction to Welding course starts on Saturday 7 September and continues on the following Saturday 14 September: both days are 4 hours from 8.30am until 1.30pm.
