Wodonga TAFE Celebrates Top Students, Partners & Staff

On Tuesday November 17, with a crowd of over 150 people, including Minister for Training and Skills, Steve Herbert, Federal Member for Indi, Cathy McGowan, State Member for Benambra, Bill Tilley, Wodonga and Albury Council members, Vice Chancellor of La Trobe University, Professor John Dewar, and heads of both local and national business, the Wodonga TAFE Board, Executive and staff celebrated the outstanding achievements of top students, industry partnerships and staff.

TAFE Students Win Big at World Skills

Last week the bi-annual Riverina regional round of the World Skills Competition was held at Kooringal High, Wagga Wagga.  This is the first stage of the international World Skills Competition that is held every two years in a different country, with the most recent one being held in Sao Paulo, Brasil. This competition is known within the trades as the ‘Trade Skills Olympics’ and holds a very high reputation among the industries, with contestants sometimes spending years training for the event.
