Launch your events career, and get hands-on straightaway supporting one of our region’s most vibrant festivals! You will hit the ground running as you help bring the 2018 North East Food and Wine Festival to fruition.

The North East Food and Festival will be held on Saturday 17 March, and a key component of the Festival is the involvement of past and present students from Wodonga TAFE’s Certificate III in Events and the Diploma of Event Management courses. As an Events student you will experience every aspect of this real work environment while being supported by our industry-current trainers and event coordinators who are passionate about your success – and our event! You will be involved, on and off campus, which will further build your knowledge and confidence to step into any industry environment.

This hands-on participation enables all our Events students to gain hours of valuable practical experience in a live event setting as they provide support to Wodonga TAFE’s Events Coordinator, Ms Katie Shalevski, in preparing for and managing the Festival throughout the day.

“Students are involved across all aspects of the Festival’s management which allows them to develop a flexible skill-set relevant to many industry roles and event types that they will encounter in their future events careers”, said Katie. “The students work with me on initial concept and design stage, then planning, through to being onsite with set-up and styling, onsite management, and evaluation.”

From this involvement as a student, you will learn a range of project management, marketing, budgeting, and hospitality skills to ensure you are equipped to enter the workforce with well-rounded business knowledge and experience managing real-life events.
