This year as a way of connecting to our community and giving back, Kids on Campus staff and children are sending care packages to Defence personnel who will be deployed overseas for Christmas.

Kids on Campus sending care packages

The children have been busy making and creating, and have handmade many well-decorated Christmas decorations and cards. From small to large, many children at Kids on Campus have been involved under staff guidance, and the boxes will contain paintings and handprints from the babies and letters of support from the older children. Kids on Campus staff also put the call out to families and friends for donations of goods to include in the packages, and so far have received enough to fill 8 boxes!

They also asked advice from local Defence families on what was the best gift to receive, and Christmas decorations came in as a strong first on the list! Also included will be personal care items, biscuits and lollies, puzzle books, vegemite, socks, magazines, twisties, shapes and more – all the little things that we take for granted in our everyday shopping that our Aussie Heroes can’t get their hands on!
