SCG Logistics plans to roll out Wodonga TAFE/DECA heavy vehicle and logistics training programs across their operations in Asia, including those in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China and Malaysia. DECA’s market-leading driving excellence program, Pro Driver, will form a significant part of the training to be delivered to SCG Logistics staff. The Pro Driver Program focuses on human behaviour and important theory behind safe and efficient driving. As well as gaining superior heavy vehicle driving knowledge and skills, participants also develop a heightened sense of professionalism, instilling a culture of pride and responsibility across an entire fleet. The relationship is likely to see Wodonga TAFE and DECA trainers not only delivering training directly to SCG Logistics heavy vehicle drivers, but train and mentor the company’s in‐house driver trainers also.

SCG Logistics Managing Director Syamrath Suthanukul said, “SCG is honoured to have this partnership with Wodonga TAFE and DECA. The training will play a significant part in helping our organisation further develop exceptional business and logistics practices, benefiting our business as well as our communities and fellow road users.

Wodonga TAFE CEO Mark Dixon said, “The partnership between Wodonga TAFE and SCG Logistics is a really exciting one. Our two organisations share similar values with regards to enhancing road safety and developing workforces to achieve business efficiencies, through innovative training programs.

"We look forward to building on this partnership and have great aspirations as to what it will achieve over the next five years," Mark concluded.
